DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The newly formed Western Naga Youth Front firmly (WYNF) today reiterated that it is a non-political and non-partisan organization. And not affiliated with any political party or specific tribal body. “Rather, it stands as a collective movement formed in the interest of safeguarding the rights, dignity and welfare of all citizens,” a press release from the front’s media cell stated.
It extended invitation to all youth bodies and organizations that are not yet part of the WNYF to come forward and join this collective initiative. The doors of the WNYF remain open to all who are committed to working together for the greater good, shared aspirations and a peaceful society, it said.
The WNYF meanwhile expressed gratitude to all Tribal Hohos and youth organizations of the erstwhile undivided Dimapur for their invaluable support and endorsement during the successful launch of the WNYF on March 14in Dimapur. It also appreciated the Nomination Committee for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the success of the launching programme. Special acknowledgment was given to the Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation for their unwavering cooperation and services rendered from the initial stages up to the day of the launch.
It stated that the WNYF has been formed with a vision of fostering unity, brotherhood and collective responsibility among the Naga people. “It aims to serve as a common platform that brings together diverse Naga tribal youth organizations under one umbrella to address pressing issues affecting our society today,” it stated.
“The key objectives of the WNYF include promoting unity and harmony among all Naga tribes, empowering youth through and ensuring social security and safety within the region. The Front is committed to actively addressing challenges such as anti-social activities, illegal taxation, extortion, intimidation, abduction and the proliferation of gun culture, which continue to disrupt peace and stability,” it added.
