Kohima, June 15 (MExN): Parliamentary secretary, Geology & Mining, irrigation & flood control and border affairs, Y.Patton made a maiden visit to his ancestral village, Elumyo on June 14 along with a host of elders. The community of Elumyo organized a warmth reception which was followed by a brief public programme in his honor.
Sharing a moment of oneness and sympathy towards the villagers, Patton urged to uphold the old-age relationship between Riphyim and Elumyo villages adding that he still has the personal attachment and considered himself as a member of Elumyo. Patton also begged for absolution from the people of Elumyo for any misadventure of misdeeds that might have committed by his ancestors thereby new hope of peace and harmony will dawn upon the younger generations. Feeling the pride of his position which happened through the blessing and prayer of Elumyo, he extended his desire to visit the village constantly and also assured to give a hand whenever he is needed.
Atssomo Tsanglao, Pastor and Tsenthungo, GB also spoke on be half of the village community during the programme. The programme was marked by prayers and folk songs by BPK Khenden and Eloe Eramoe Okho. Mention many be made here that that the forefathers of Patton’s clan of present Old Riphyim village including some who had scattered in different villages were among the inhabitants of Elumyo village some hundred years ago before their migration and interestingly, both Elumyo and Riphyim villages are celebrating Platinum Jubilee this year end.
