Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Yimchungru Akheru Arihako (YAA) has made an appeal to all ‘factions’ stating that collection of illegal taxes under the Yimchunger jurisdiction is restricted without the proper consent of the Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC). “No new region shall be entertained within the jurisdiction of Yimchunger area except Yimchunger region,” Rolland S, YAA’s press & information secretary, stated in a press release received here.
The YAA further declared strong support for the resolution passed by the YTC in May this year. The new YTC team had held its first session at its headquarters, Shamator town, under the chairmanship of Yansomong Showuba, YTC’s executive council chairman on May 6-8, 2009.
The YAA also informed all the ‘national workers’ to abide by the ENPO resolution taken on December 18, 2007, “in order to maintain peace and tranquillity among Nagas in general and Yimchungru in particular”, and cautioned that “the violator shall not be given cooperation by the YAA”.
