Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA), the apex students' organisation of Yimkhiung tribe, has expressed shocked over the alleged rape of a 12-year-old minor girl by one Yankiuba Yimkhiung on April 17 in Kohima Town.
“The YAA strongly condemns and calls for immediate action against the perpetrators to be booked under POSCO Act, 2012 and justice be delivered to victim and her family,” stated the YAA in a press release from its President Achung Jangleh and Joint Secretary, Joshua K.
It further extended its full cooperation to law enforcement agencies to book the culprit under existing law and cautioned that the arrest should be “non-bailable.”
“In today's civilised society, every girl and woman should be able to live safely, feel protected and grow up free of violence,” YAA added.
