
Tuensang, June 22 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) has stated that “albeit the Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) standing resolution adopted during the 41st general session at its headquarter, Shamator which prohibits hunting, fishing, poaching and collection of medicinal plants/herbs within its jurisdiction, it has been brought to the knowledge of YAA that some individuals are clandestinely engaged in the aforementioned ‘illegal trade’ in the region.”
The press release by YAA, informed all the concerned that YAA shall enforce “blanket ban” in the entire Yimchungrü’s jurisdiction henceforth.
“In this regard, YAA endorsed all its constituent units to reinforce the resolution through proper monitoring and empowers them to penalize defaulters within their respective jurisdiction as per the resolution. In the event of non-compliance of this order or failure to implement the said resolution by any of the constituent unit, the concerned unit and village council shall be held fully responsible,” the release added.
YAA further, seeks co-operation and support from all the stakeholders including the village councils in preserving the flora and fauna in the region.
