Yachem village declared as ‘Green, Organic and Plastic free village’

Longleng, October 27 (MExN): The 8th edition of the Phom Gazetted Officers Association (PGOA) was held on October 26 at Langto Park, Yachem Village. The 8th edition was hosted by the Yachem Gazetted Officers.  

The president of the PGOA B Nyenghong Phom, Joint Director of Agriculture in presence of Minister for Health and Family Welfare government of Nagaland S Pangnyu Phom and Rev Anjo Keikung former Chairman NPSC declared Yachem village as a Green, Organic and Plastic free village and planted saplings of decorative trees in the park to mark the occasion.  

During the first session of the program, Chingan Phom, President of Phom Peoples' Council and S Pangnyu Phom exhorted the meeting while Rev Anjo Keikung gave a presentation on the topic "A Visionary Leader" and challenged the Officers to a live life worth to be call an Officer and to properly utilize all God gifted potentials for the betterment of humanity.  

The other highlights of the program were special numbers presented by Yachem Students Union and Phom folk song by Anuti Lunglak Yachem. The first session was attended by about 250 delegates and Officers from different parts of Nagaland, a press release from PGOA informed. Among others who attended the program were John Tsalise Sangtam, DC Longleng, Yangba Konyak, SP Longleng and Temsuwati, ADC Longleng. Before the program, one minute silent was observed as a mark of respect to the departed souls of two members who expired during the last one year namely Lt Tia Phom and Lt Kam Mukho Dy Secretary.  

Three resolutions were adopted in the technical session: Approval of the Association Constitution, Approval of Association Logo and Motto, and Change of Association nomenclature from Phom Lungvang Pangthai to Phom Gazetted Officers' Association. The meeting also accepted and welcomed the invitation of the Yongam village council to host the 9th edition of the association at Shingphang project. The meeting ended with a mass prayer.
