Wokha, May 19 (MExN): The Yanpha Village Council Wokha has “strongly opposed/ objected the action of Rapvuo Humtsoe, Head GB of Lishayan and party along with border DB Nlumsao Ovung for trying to conduct an official programme on May 3 of inaugurating a self style new village by the name of Lishayan and erecting a memorial stone within Yanpha village area/ jurisdiction." In a press statement, Yanpha Village Council chairman Yansao Ovung and its Head GB Roben Lotha stated that Yanpha people destroyed the memorial stone on March 2.
“The Yanpha Village Council and Yanpha people in general will not allow the above mentioned person or any individual to establish any new village within the jurisdiction/ area of Yanpha village,” asserted the note. “The matter has been reported to the authority concerned to take legal course of action against the above mentioned person.”
It cautioned that if authority fails to take up the said matter immediately and resolve the issue then the Village Council will take its own course of action against Rapvuo Humtsoe and Nlumsao Ovung "for which act the Yanpha Village Council shall not be held responsible.” It further warned the mentioned individuals to restrain from such action or face the consequences.
