Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Yellow Line Tobacco Free campaign for tobacco free institutions has been launched from Immanuel College on February 14.
According to Dr C Tetseo DNO NTCP, CMO Office Dimapur the objective of the campaign is to strengthen tobacco free institution norms and also to create more awareness for the students, staff and visitors.
In this, a yellow line with the caption ‘Tobacco Free Zone’ will be drawn on both sides of the road about 100 metres from the schools and colleges.
Within the yellow line nobody is allowed to sell or use tobacco products.
Dr Tetseo stated that this campaign will cover all Tobacco free institutions in Dimapur district and this will also be replicated in other districts also. During the function Dr Tetseo also mentioned that tobacco is not only about health but it is also about civic sense and environment. He lamented that litters from taalab and tulsi have become the ugliest sight and a major source of pollution in the town and he encouraged the students to be agents of changes in creating a better civic sense. He also made an appeal to all the tobacco free institutions to cooperate on this campaign.
