Yet to become NPF’s CM candidate: Azo clarifies

Kohima, July 20 (MExN): MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, leader of Naga People’s Front (NPF) Legislature Party today clarified that he is yet is to become the chief ministerial candidature of party.

Such decision will be done by the party and also it will declare the chief ministerial candidature by December last or first week of January 2023, just ahead of election, he said.

Azo also noted that he had said nothing about lack of confidence of any leadership, “but stated that any party leaders or any party workers from NDPP or BJP joining NPF is unique, strange and also a blessing in disguise.”

Accordingly, he said that anyone ‘who are not treated well or mistreated or sidelinded are most welcome to join NPF’ and take shelter as it is a ‘party for the Nagas.’

The clarification came after a communiqué from the NPF Press Bureau on July 19, among others, stated that, “The Chief Ministerial candidature of the NPF also expressed that though the ruling Government party running strong, many of its office bearers resigning and joining the NPF is an indication of lack of confidence on its leadership and the survival of the party.”
