The Yhome clan on 5th May 2013 had convened a meeting and deliberated deeply with regard to the incident at Kiphire on the 28th April 2013 where the altercation between the public and the 7 Assam Rifles Unit which led to burning down of the DC’s official residence along with his official vehicle and some other official vehicles parked inside the premise of the DC. The DC, who is one of our members, had a narrow escape with only the clothing on his personal which we may define it as “divine protection” of the Almighty. Because, had it not been for the timely interception of our Omni-present God, the whole episode would have been a totally different issue which would lead to an uncontrollable magnitude of dire fallouts outside of Kiphire.
In our customary practice, to damage and burn down one’s residence and belongings is to mete out the most extreme punishment to a most extreme criminal. Therefore, what we don’t apprehend still now is why was the residence of the DC burned down with all his belongings, if he was not guilty of anything with regard to the stand-off between the public and the AR as we were told?
Just in the recent, we have all learnt a great deal from an almost similar occurrence at Wokha district. Having such incidence still so fresh in our minds, we had restrained ourselves not even to go to the media. But now, since the Government on its part is doing all it can to do justice and bring back peace and calm in the district, and also the publics’ of Kiphire having realized their misdeed and tendered apology, we take this privilege to appeal to one and all to act (if you must) but with caution so as not to provoke the asleep neighbour when the unruly neighbour pesters.
We also take this privilege to know the outcome of the High Level Committee which the constituency MLA, the representative of the government had mentioned earlier. We also expressed our deepest concern for the well being of Mr. Kesonyü Yhome, Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, and urge the Government of Nagaland to take all measures for his safety and also to bring out the enquiry report at the earliest.
