Dimapur, October 7,(MExN): The Yhome clan strongly has condemned the ‘cowardly’ and ‘barbarous’ act of Vizetuo Mere, alias “Atenuo” s/o. Lt. Vihulie Mere of Zadima Village for attempted murder of his own step-daughter on the night of 3rd Oct. 2011 at around 8 – 8:30 PM. Ayie Yhome, President, Yhome Chienuo, Kohima, stated in a press release, that the Yhome Clan through an emergency meeting on 6 -10-11 had resolved to publish the following item in the local dailies for public notice. He added that Vizetuo Mere, alias “Atenuo” on the said night was arguing with his wife and in the process, he picked up a Dao and slashed the neck of his step-daughter of 17 yrs old, who is in class X in Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima. The girl was unconscious and was believed to be dead. But upon taken to the hospital she was confirmed alive.The girl is in critical condition and nothing can be ascertained. The Yhome clan has appealed to the authority to mete out the severest punishment to the perpetrator and not to entertain any Bail Plea to anyone. He asserted that the leaders and elders of the Yhome clan has so far controlled and contained the situation or else it would have escalated to an untoward state by now.
