Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): The Young Indians (Yi) Nagaland chapter representing and start up members from EduCentre went for an exposure-cum-networking trip to Siliguri and Sikkim on April 6.

According to updates received on Sunday, a total of 22 entrepreneurs from Nagaland met with top entrepreneurs of Siliguri where intensive discussions on progress of Siliguri as a marketing hub and possible collaborations were discussed. The delegation then headed to Sikkim where the team were hosted by entrepreneurs of Sikkim.

Professionals from various sectors arranged a panel discussion dwelling on the changes that are being implemented in their state and how Nagaland is also gearing up to be a tourist/ business hotspot in the northeast.

The Nagaland chapter along with Siliguri and Sikkim chapters attended a session with COO of Sikkim IFFCO Mayank Paihar who conducted a business talk on the importance of organic farming and how the industry is the going to be the most challenging and rewarding prospect for the North-eastern region, the updates stated.

On the final day the Nagaland chapter headed to Changu Lake, a hotspot for tourist attraction that gets about 4 lakh tourists every year, to understand how the government is focusing on building eco systems for entrepreneurship and training the stakeholders on sustainable tourism and waste management.

The updates stated that Yi Nagaland has taken an approach of building personal relationships and networking across the nation through which progress can be shared and learnt along the way. The itinerary was coordinated by Educentre school of Business, a start up incubator supported by the Department of Industries and Commerce.

Quoting Thejasevi Putsure, Chair of YI, Nagaland Chapter, the updates expressed gratitude to the hosts, adding, “We hope to bring the delegates of YI North-east to Nagaland in the near future.”
