Wokha, October 1 (MExN): The three-day Yikhum Baptist Church quasqui centennial jubilee celebration under the theme, ‘Come Lord Jesus’ (Revelation 22:20) commenced on September 30.
A DIPR report stated that on day-two, the theme speaker Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, Ao Baptist Arogo Mundang (ABAM) reminded the gathering that it was through God’s grace that ABAM managed to extend support towards the establishment of Lotha Baptist Churches Association way back in 1923. “Through all this historical events and realities that happened, strongly serves to witness the relationship between ABAM and Yikhum Church,” he asserted.
Acknowledging the “presence of God,” the speaker believed that “this jubilee celebration will be a blessed one for Yikhum village and the Lotha community in days to come.”
Earlier, ABAM choirs enthralled the gathering with beautiful gospel numbers. R Zanbemo Kithan, Pastor Yikhum BC, acknowledged the ABAM delegates with mementos and other gifts.
The programme was chaired by Chenirao Jungi, invocation prayer by Atul Gogoi, Missionary, Dhemaji, Assam and benediction by Roland Ngullie, Pastor Senjum Yan Baptist Ekhumkho. A feast in honour of the daughters married to others followed the service.
On day-one, Rev John Ovung, former executive secretary LBCA unveiled and dedicated the Jubilee monolith while the Jubilee Convention hall was inaugurated by Rev Achumo Kithan, Pastor Tchuphyangza Baptist Ekhumko.
