Longleng, December 8 (MExN): Yingli College, Longleng Research Cell successfully organized two-day national seminar on sustainable development on December 2 and 3 through the sponsorship of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. 

A press note stated that during the inaugural function held at Borgohain Hall, Dr T Temsu Imti gave the welcome address followed by inaugural address by Prof Sibnath Deb, Director of RGNIYD. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Toli Achumi, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Yingli Colllege.  The session was chaired by Dr Vizolenuo Sophie, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. Altogether there were six technical sessions. 

On the first day, the technical sessions were taken up by three resource speakers. Dr Lily Ngullie, Assistant Chief Technical Officer, KVK, Longleng delivered on “Entrepreneurship Development through Livestock and Poultry.” Dr Obangjungla, Chief Medical Officer, District Hospital, Longleng delivered on “Review and the Impact of COVID-19 on Physical and Mental Health” and Neingutonuo Kulnu, Psychiatric Social Worker, Longleng spoke on “Coping with the New Normal.”

For the second day, Aghalu Chishi, District Project Officer, Department of Land Resource, Longleng presented on, “Coffee, Tea Rubber Plantations: Costs and Benefits,” Y Nuklu Phom, Chairman & Team Leader, Lemsachenlok, Yaongyimchen, Longleng and also Former Executive Secretary, Phom Baptist Christian Association shared on, “Managing resources for sustainability in the context of depleting environment” and Kezevinuo Thepa, Superintendent, Observation Home State Child Protection Services, Longleng dwelt on, “preserving, maintaining & sustaining the available resources as God steward.”

Warm valedictory function was chaired by Mhonjan Odyou, Assistant Professor, Department of History. Valedictory speech was delivered by Prof Vasanthi Rajendran, Centre for Training Orientation and Capacity Building, RGNIYD, Chennai. Dr B Henshet Phom, Vice Principal Yingli College, Longleng, concluded the programme with the vote of thanks.
