Longleng, September 10 (MExN): Yingli College observed 24th foundation cum fresher’s day on September 9 with Zhoi Lohe NCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Longleng as special guest at Prof. Borgohain Hall, Yingli College. A press release stated that the function compered by Among Chishi and Kamnyei commenced after the rendition of college anthem and invocation pronounced by Pastor Tongshau, Bhumnyü Baptist Church.
Keynote address was delivered by Vice Principal and Principal incharge Dr. B Henshet Phom, welcome voice and an item ‘look across the nation’ was presented by BA 3rd semester students. The programme culminated with the crowning of Lenke C Phom and Lungshen as the College Princess and Prince 2016 respectively.
Joint. Secretary, YCSU Nyaba conveyed words of gratitude and Pastor Tenhaü Phom pronounced benediction.
The second part of the day was a cultural event which was compered by Owshing and Nokyingmoba. Asst. Prof. Dr. MK Jha also gave a short sharing during the cultural event where he appreciated the Naga people by saying that even before the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the PM Narendra Modi Naga people had been conducting cleanliness drive time to time. He also appreciated the students of Nagaland by citing some of the incidences he came across in the past.
