Yitachu launches 26 Mid Day Meal vehicles

Minister for School Education & SCERT Yitachu today formally launched 26 Mid-Day Meal (MDM) vehicles at a function held at the Secretariat Plaza. The 26 Tata Mobile pick-up trucks are meant for 26 SDEO offices in the state.  

The minister expressed optimism that with the launching of MDM vehicles, the Mid Day Meal schemes will effectively reach out to every corner of the state.  

“We should prove ourselves worthy of our position,” he said and urged the officials and drivers to give their best towards successful implementation of MDM schemes and restore confidence of the people by implementing the same at grassroots levels.  

He also asked the drivers to follow the handbook and perform well.

The vehicle will be used exclusively for transportation of Mid Day Meal food grains and for work related to the scheme only.  

Terms and conditions for drivers and vehicles was briefed by Wonthungo Tsopoe, Additional Director (HoD).   The function was chaired by F.P. Solo, Commissioner & Secretary for School Education & SCERT.
