Dimapur, April 3 (MExN): The Yongshei Students’ Union, Dimapur won the 1st Phom Monyiü trophy in Dimapur after defeating the Auching Students’ Union, Dimapur in the final on April 1.
Altogether, 15 teams participated in the first edition of the tourney organised by the Dimapur Phom Students’ Union at the DDSC Stadium, Dimapur from March 31-April 1 under the theme, ‘Breaking Barriers.’
Gracing the closing day as the special guest, EAC Jalukie, C Wangan Phom said that volleyball is one of favourite games of the Phoms and expressed his happiness to witness the same game spirit in Dimapur as well.
The event concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Games & Sports Secretary, P Baulong Phom, a DIPR report informed.
