
Phek, April 22 (MExN): The Yorübami Thinkers’ Forum organised “Pethimi Tüsozho” (Elders Day) cum Free Medical camp on April 22 at Yorüba Village.
According to a press release, 153 elders above the age of 70 years attended the programme which was held with the sole motive to honour and receive blessings from elders.
The main speaker Zaseyi Veswüh, Director Children Ministry, Akash Deep, Arunachal, exhorted the gathering and appealed the elders to continue building close relationship with God.
Stating that the life of elders is the most precious gift and a blessing to the village, he advised against the use of discouraging words and instead, urged the elders to develop the habit of using encouraging words.
Veswüh expressed appreciation to the forum for organising the most valuable programme and advised the younger generation to love and respect the elderly people and also pray for their long life. The speaker later led a time of prayer exchange.
Pusayi Lohe, Rüna sekrüo (village oldest man/person) pronounced the Act of blessing.
The programme was followed by a free medical camp organised with Doctors and Nurses from CHC Chozuba Town, PHC Dzulha and PHC Yorüba.
Meanwhile, the Forum extended its appreciation to the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Vetsütsoyi Swüro and Dr. Khriezoto Paphino Dy. Director (medical) for providing medicines and to Dr. Kusalhu Lohe for his valuable service.
