Kohima, October 6 (MExN): Young Indians (Yi) conducted a session on ‘Project Masoom’ at Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima on October 4. Students from Vineyard School, Holy Family School and Coraggio Schools were also a part of the session. A press release stated that ‘Project Masoom is an initiative of Young Indians (Yi), conceived with the objective to keep child safe by creating awareness on child safety among young girl child, parents and stake holders. The main objective is to spread awareness for school children across India about Child Sex Abuse. Speaking at the session Vitono Gugu Haralu, Yi Member and Director of PathFinder spoke on making the students aware of Safe and Unsafe Touch (Child Sexual Abuse) and encouraging them to speak up when they feel unsafe and insecure. The event was also screened by a short movie ‘KOMAL’ where the children from age group 5 to 12 years can learn what is good and bad for them. The students were also taught how to speak their minds and share their problems/worries at different levels and whom to contact if any such cases arises. They were made aware that if any such cases were seen or felt they can always contact at 1098 Child HelpLine or can bring the matter to their parents and teachers or any trust worthy people whom they trust.
