DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (MExN): Students of DMI St Joseph Global School, Dimapur paid tribute through their art to frontline workers who have been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ever since the closure of schools due to the pandemic, DMI St. Joseph Global School has been conducting online classes for the students from KG to Class X, earmarking Saturday as the ‘Day to Create’ something on their own.

This Saturday, the school assigned to the students the theme ‘Pay Tribute to the Frontline Workers’ with the intent to come out with creative ideas of expressing their gratitude to them.

Accordingly, activities like poem recitation, essays, speeches, composition of songs, rendering songs, drawing/painting, poster-making, digital banner and digital slides-making and Power Point Presentations (PPTs) were  some of the activities given to students.

Students came out with attractive drawings/paintings, essays, poems, posters, placards, PPTs, Slides, short recorded speeches etc., showcasing their talent.

Principal, Backiyaraj T stated that in these difficult times, children require hobbies to get relief from anxiety and stress.
“These activities are specially designed to enthuse and involve children to form a hobby of their choice and bring out their inherent talent and potentiality. Hobbies make children more confident, and expressive, and make them gloss over stage fright. They also learn to master their virtual creative skills,” he added.

In addition to students’ participation, a considerable number of parents also take part in school activities at home like physical drills, exercises and Zumba dance.

Coordinator of the Extra-curricular Activities (ECA), Tolino V Zhimomi plans various interesting activities for the weekend.

Administrator, Rev. Sr. Stella oversees and lends moral support for the smooth conduct of the school activities.
