Wokha Circle Students’ Union 22nd general conference held
Wokha, December 10 (MExN): The Wokha Circle Students’ Union (WCSU) held its 22nd general conference on the theme ‘Lothas hundred years from now’ at Tiyi Hall, Wokha town on December 10. It was graced by Dr Chumben Murry, Advisor for Law & Justice, and also Chairman DPDB Wokha as the special guest.
In his address, Dr Murry challenged the young people to have clear vision and perception to take the community forward. A press release received here stated that Dr Murry encouraged the student community to reflect and ponder on the past and envision the life of ‘Lothas hundred years from now.’
The Advisor challenged the student community “to stand on solid ground and make a five to ten years plan or more so that they can achieve their goals,” while he also advised them to ‘be an efficient manager and not an effective manager’ in every duty and responsibility in life.
‘Student community must become skilful and professional in various field so as that Nagaland can be rescued from mass government job hunt,’ he stated while reiterating that government employment has reached saturating point in the state. He also lamented that out of 100% fund received from the Centre, 63% are been utilized for salaries of government employees.
Further, Dr Murry called on the young people to seek and pray for Naga solution, stating it as as “stumbling block towards all round development in Nagaland.”
The theme speaker, Lichan Humtsoe, founder and CEO, Ete Coffee shared his experience as an entrepreneur and his journey of making Ete Coffee a top brand in India. He opined that until the students who study the professional subject joins the field and execute the work, Naga society will not progress. Lichan also urged the gathering not to look down on any profession or make comparisons but to build and uplift one another for the community to progress.
Earlier, presidential note was delivered by C Longshithung Lotha WCSU, president with solidarity message from Abenthung Tsopoe, senior leader LSU and Chumben Khuvung, Deputy Speaker Union Assembly, Nagaland Students’ Federation.
