'Till we all come to the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God to a perfect man' Ephesians 4:13
A perfect man…
Let us forget about India. It’s a long way run. But put a force, a focus in Nagaland. Because, before being an Indian, we are all Nagalimi.
A perfect man…
We hardly see good people. Our world is so materialised. Everybody is rushing for the money and the fame. Sometimes, or maybe most times I weep with Wordsworth, Blake, Whitman, Shelly and many more. I weep because sometimes I find myself a victim in our hustle and bustle code of life. And sometimes I find myself going on with this leading corruption. Our life itself is engulfed in politics. As we turn around, we see conflicts, fights, and dramas on tribalism in Nagaland. Nagaland is a land of festivals, of happiness, of great bonding and of great love. But at the same time, a land of selfish people and selfish tribes, looking for selfish fame.
James 1:5 (lacking wisdom).
We are intellectuals. Yet we only study for ourselves, for our future. But who cares to study for the family, for the society, for the world. As intellectuals, we often have debates on corruption. But my dad says, “NO MAN CAN PROMISE TO BRING AN END TO THIS ". We just talk about tribalism, about corruption, its impacts and causes but we ourselves are inviting it in our life, in our society. You know, with tribalism our society will crumble down but with unity, our society will prosper.
Our land Nagaland is a very small land. People do not know where exactly Nagaland is. At least Manipur, people know, because Manipur is known for Mary Kom, but Nagaland, people don't even know that it exists in India. As England, Scotland, people may think Nagaland is another 'land' country but is unknown to the world.
This March 5 (2015) incident, it shocked the whole world. In the past decades, our 'Great Ancestors' have done many good deeds for the world, during those times of struggles of the world. They have shed their tears and blood but nothing such was ever recognised. Forget about the world but our own mother India, we were never ever pleased. But that one incident on March 5, 2015, broke the BBC record.
The world began to regard us as BARBARIC.
But no, we can prove this wrong because we are no longer in our barbaric state. We are Christians, people of God and the past is history. We are on a revolution, being responsible for the future of Nagaland. For it lies in our hands, in your hands.
It is very painful, the most penetrating feeling when we realise that the people of Nagaland go abroad, get degree after degree, become extraordinarily qualified, educated. WOW... But what, they come back home and still says, "I will only marry my own tribe women to promote our (my) culture and heritage".
Oh people, what is that education for when you can't get off from your conservative mindset. Why are you so brainwashed?
What is that education for when you yourself is bringing tribalism in Nagaland?
You are educated; we are supposed to educate our uneducated friends and society. Then, why this?
We are Nagas, in us, there flows a blood of unity, of brotherhood. We are all brothers and sisters. No tribe is superior or inferior. Everyone is equal in God's perfect eyes. Then who are you to bring this difference?
We are supposed to be a land of peace and love. We Nagas together fought against colonial powers and Indian armies in our history. And we will still do it when circumstances apply. Our present problems are nothing to be compared to our Naga saga.
I have pain in my heart for my land, for our land. And it is so painful to realise that, yet I lay motionless; not moving. I have pain that, I don't know... That I could ever do something but I really, really want to. All now I do is write this message. As I believe, the word itself has its power. I hope the words ‘sword’ the ‘isms’ of our society.
