Youngsters ‘tackle’ with Naga wrestling tactics at Model Village 5th mile

Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): To generate interest and promote Naga wrestling among young people in Dimapur district area, the youth body of the Model Village 5th Mile Dimapur organised a workshop on Naga wrestling on March 27. 

The workshop was held on pilot project basis to create interest and promote Naga wrestling among young people in Dimapur district area, the organiser said. 

Khrievotuo Sekhose, a former Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) champion and Visakuotuo Dzüvichü, Wrestling Sectrary, Kohima Village Youth Organisation and Junior Team Coach, Kohima Village were  trainers at the workshop.  

Though not widely publicized, the workshop had a sizeable amount of participants and Naga wrestling knowhow ranging from warm-ups, basic stances to grappling and throwing techniques were taught during the workshop, the organiser added. 

The workshop concluded with a tournament where Keneisetuo Kire from Tenyiphe-I emerged as the Champion while Keseto Thakro from Model Village 5th Mile was the runner-up. 

Er Emmanuel Pucho from Tenyiphe-I and Rokükhol Kin from Model Village 5th Mile secured the  3rd and 4th positions respectively.
