
Wokha, April 23 (DIPR): With the rest of the nation, Wokha District Road Safety Committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS is all set to observe the week long 29th National Road Safety Week starting from April 23 to 30 on the theme ‘Road Safety-Life Safety.’
On the first day Police department (Traffic Personnel), District Transport Office staff assisted by Bharat Scout & Guides distributed pamphlets and car stickers with the view to spread awareness among the public. Scout & guides also assisted the traffic personnel in manning some of the traffic points to ease smooth flow of traffic in the town area.
On the second day department of Transport will be distributing slogans to the drivers. On April 28, the Superintended of Police will be organizing painting competition on the theme ‘Your Safety, Security, Your Family- Be cautious on Road’ at SP Office Conference Hall, Wokha. Four participants from each school were invited to take part in the competition. The competition will be held on two categories, Junior (Cl-2 to & 7) and Senior (Cl-8 to 10).
Besides that cash prizes of Rs.5000/- (Five Thousand), Rs.3000/- (three thousand) and 2000/- (two thousand) along with citation certificates will be awarded to the first three winners respectively.
During the week long programme MVCP will be done on regular basis and defaulters will be penalized.
