Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, retd Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare has said that the upcoming youth were the greatest resources of the state as they will be leaders of tomorrow.
Dwelling further on his point, Dr. Sukhato noted that the present generation youngsters knew better than their past counterparts or present elders. He was optimistic that today’s youth who are better equipped with advanced educational opportunities would bring positive changes in the society.
The retired officer was speaking as chief guest at the felicitation Programme cum Freshers’ meet of Aghunaqa Area Students’ Union at Town Hall Dimapur on Saturday.
He encouraged the students by quoting Jeremiah 29:11 from The Bible in which the Lord states, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans not to harm you but plans to give you hope and a future.” Dr. Sukhato told the students to keep in mind that God wanted them to be the head and not a tail.
The chief guest also listed four points for students in their endeavour for academic success: setting goal clearly, acquiring knowledge continuously, working hard with devotion, and perseverance.
During the programme, President of Western Sumi Students’ Union, Nito Achumi encouraged the successful students to strive for bigger success and bring laurels to their family and society. Altogether, 110 successful students of HSLC and HSSLC students were felicitated during the programme.
