Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland (LMFN) is set to organise a two-day “Youth Conclave cum Cultural Fest (YCCF)” on February 22 and 23 at the Lions Club Auditorium, Nepali Basti, in Dimapur.
SC Jamir, former chief minister of Nagaland and former governor of Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra, and Odisha will be one of the special guests on the first day of the event. The others will include Rajya Sabha MP from West Bengal Sushmita Dev, Chairman of the Assam Linguistic Minority Development Board and former MLA Shiladitya Dev and Advisor to CM of Nagaland and former MLA, Dr Chumben Murry.
Nagaland BJP President Benjamin Yepthomi, Meghalaya Linguistic Minority Development Forum President, Sushit Kanti Choudhury, and social worker Capt Hekiye Sema will also grace the first day.
The list of guests on closing ceremony programme includes MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Leader of NPF Legislature, Kamalakhya Dey Purakayastha, MLA from Barak Valley, Assam, Dipak Dey President of All Assam Bengali Students Federation, Shuvadip Datta, Convenor Barak Movement and Chitta Paul, Convenor North East Hindu Bengali United Forum.
A press release received here stated that the event is aimed at empowering the youth and celebrating the cultures of the non-Naga linguistic minority communities permanently settled in Nagaland while providing the youth with a platform, as they are viewed as the future of the country.
The forum has invited everyone, Nagas and non-Nagas alike, to be a part of the event and witness the showcase of the rich cultures of the permanently settled non-Naga communities during the programme.
The event will also feature dialogues related to education, empowerment, basic amenities of youth, and more on welfare & development. The event will also serve as a platform for the youth of the community and the communities in general to remember and embrace their roots, which many are forgetting, Arijit Sharma, Convenor, LMFN stated in a press release.
