Dimapur, December 14 (MExN): Zooni Dash, a resident of Odisha (Orissa), working for the Initiatives of Change in India, has written to the people of Mezoma village asking for forgiveness on behalf of India and its defense forces.
“I experienced pain, sadness and also a sense of guilt because I come from a defense family; my father was in the Indian Air Force,” stated Dash in a letter to the people of Mezoma after she listened to the narratives of the people of the village.
“But today, on behalf of our defense forces and my country India. I would simple like to ask for forgiveness from you.
Forgiveness for the pain we have caused, for the hurt you still carry. I want to say as a human being, I understand and want to understand more deeply,” stated the letter.
Dash hoped that someday, “we will all live in peace”. It may be mentioned that Dash was part of the Asia Pacific Youth Conference held at Sechu-Zubza from December 7-13, 2012. The participants had visited Mezoma village on December 10, 2012 as part of the conference.
