Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union Dimapur (ZSUD) hosted a programme to honour the meritorious students who successfully cleared the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2025 conducted by NBSE and CBSE, at conference hall, Hotel Saramati Dimapur.

NBSE Secretary Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, addressing the event as special guest, described academic success as a “monumental achievement,” but said that students must look beyond marks. He stressed the transformative power of education and urged the youth to choose career paths that align with their strengths, interests, and relevance to the job market.

“Strive continuously for excellence. Dream high, but also plan and act accordingly,” he told the students. Noting the pressure many face in opting for science without genuine interest, Nsarangbe cautioned parents against imposing decisions on their children. “Understand their passion. Don’t force them into roles they aren’t meant for,” he said.

Touching on the National Education Policy 2020, he noted its focus on holistic development, including life skills and value-based learning. “While academic excellence is vital, life skills are equally important,” he emphasized.

Guest speaker Wiridin Newmai, NCS, SDO (C) Dimapur, drew attention to the realities of an increasingly AI-driven future. “In this age of artificial intelligence, your skills will speak louder than your marks,” he said. Sharing his own struggles during his school years, Newmai encouraged the students to stay grounded and consistent. “Use technology wisely. Information is now at your fingertips—learn to harness it meaningfully.”

The event featured speeches from community leaders and students, including topper Lungyihangle Nring, and representatives from the Zeliang People Organisation Dimapur, Zeliang Women Organisation Dimapur, and Zeliang Youth Organisation Dimapur.

ZSUD President Asap Zeliang delivered the welcome note, while Rev. Dr. Visor H. Zeliang of the Fellowship of Naga Baptist Association concluded the program with a benediction.
