Kohima, September 16 (MExN): YouthNet Women Entrepreneurship Fellowship (YWEF) was launched at Made in Nagaland Centre on September 15. Under the Nagaland Startup Policy 2019, special focus is given to Women Entrepreneurs in order to support their enterprises and contribute towards building a healthy and sustainable economy.
Keneirienuo Kire, Assistant Director (Tech), Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, in her address mentioned that 25% of the policy funds have been dedicated to promote startups by women entrepreneurs in Nagaland.
This initiative is a one-year fellowship program for 20 dynamic women entrepreneurs who run various business such as apparel, crafts, food processing, food production, home décor, handloom, jewelry and many more. This fellowship was designed following the success of YouthNet’s Beautypreneur program in partnership with Godrej- Good & Green, for women entrepreneurs in the beauty sector. The 3 year program showed our entrepreneurs doubling their income by making management changes in their businesses.
The YWEF will focus on helping women entrepreneurs change their business dynamics, facilitate growth in their ventures, while addressing issues of each entrepreneur along with one-on-one mentorship for the experts. The fellowship will also facilitating access to finances and exposure to the investor/stakeholder community.
