Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): The 16 Assam Rifles under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (N) is organizing and sponsoring local youths for a Cane and Bamboo Technology Course, from February 2 to March 3 at Guwahati. The Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre (CBTC) at Guwahati organises and runs month long trainings, informed a press note issued by Col RP Velu, PRO, IGAR (N).
The note stated that as part of the civic action project, 25 youth from Viswema, Phesama, Khonoma, Mezoma and Pheuschama villages around Kohima are being sent to undergo the month long course at CBTC, Guwahati. The course will provide them with necessary skills certified under the guidelines of DGE&T, Ministry of Labour. The village elders and chairman of all villages expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for undertaking such a venture that will empower the local youth.
