Kohima, January 8 (DIPR): Rachü Youth Organisation (RYO) held its 52nd Youth Day-cum-Wrestling Meet 2017 at Phuzhü on January 7 with Solezhol Neikha, SP, District Jail, Phek as the chief guest.
In his address, Solezhol called upon the youths to use their prime time efficiently and choose the right talent to excel in their fields. He maintained that youths are the beauty and assets of the khel and village. “Youths are the backbone of the village. They are the good morning of the day and like a spring season of the year,” he stated.
He also asserted that one cannot become a professional sportsperson in one day and urged the wrestlers to use proper diet and regular exercises and compete with one another with the spirit of sportsmanship and bring laurels to the khel.
Meanwhile, Solezhol extended New Year greetings to all those gathered at the event and praised almighty God for giving the beautiful day to the youths. He further acknowledged the founding members who had a vision for the betterment of the future generation and formed the organisation (RYO).
A one minute silent was also observed in memory of KV Pusa, former minister, who passed away recently. Meyiekul Noswe, president, RYO chaired the programme, Dzüvingol Sothu, Assistant Pastor, VCRC invoked God's blessing. Welcome address was delivered by Elho Kin, Secretary Report was given by Tepumekro Sothu, and administration of oaths was done by Meyoho Sothu. Eyongol Sothu, chairman, Rachümi panchayat gave away the prizes to the winners. Meanwhile, vote of thanks was pronounced by Er. Medoseho.
