YSU celebrates 50th anniversary

Dimapur, January 7 (MExN): The Yakor Students’ Union (YSU) celebrated its 50th anniversary from December 27-28 under the theme ‘Honor, Peace & Prosperity’ with R. Tohanba, Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs, Economics & Statistics as chief guest.  

Tohanba highlighted the brief history of the village, which was started way back in the 18th century, informed a press release from his Personal Assistant (PA). He said the citizens of Yakor received education in 1950. The Parliamentary Secretary further emphasized the need for maintaining peace and respect with people in the neighbouring areas for all round development in the area. “Then only the true meaning of coexistence in harmony will be fully understood,” he added.  

Further, he motivated the students' community to set goal and work harder to achieve higher, while reminding that it is a world of competition. He also encouraged the participants to be responsible citizens of the state.
