DIMAPUR, JANUARY 21 (MExN): The Yongnyah Town Baptist Church (YTBC) marked its 39th Church Foundation Celebration on January 20 with a moment of reflection and spiritual enlightenment.

Led by Chairperson D Nganan, the event commenced with an invocation by Phonglang, Catechist of Holy Cross Church Yongnyah. Pastor N Pongkup extended a warm welcome, setting the stage for a meaningful celebration.

The musical interlude featured captivating performances by Doije and Changnyei, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Moiom, Woman Pastor, YTBA led the congregation in heartfelt prayers for the founding members and their families, expressing gratitude for their visionary dedication.

Dr Samuel Akho Konyak P, NCS, EAC Longleng Hq and incharge Yongnyah emphasized the essence of the church as the Body of Christ, transcending physical structures. His impassioned speech called on the congregation to actively engage in community building, provide support in mental and emotional realms, offer spiritual guidance, and take a stand against societal ills.

Offering a historical perspective, Bongveih, a founding member, recounted the early struggles and triumphs of the congregation. His inspiring anecdotes of resilience resonated with the assembly, encouraging them to face challenges with unwavering faith in God's grace.

Speaker H Mongngoi, Associate Pastor of LTBC, delved into the theme ‘You are a chosen people.’ His sermon explored the contrast between mega churches globally, marked by potential divisions, and the profound spiritual works and miracles witnessed in smaller congregations faithfully following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He encouraged the church to continually commit to spiritual growth, community service, and unity.

He ended on a note that as the Yongnyah Town Baptist Church commemorated 39 years of foundation, the event should serve as both a poignant reflection on their journey and a rallying call for a future guided by unwavering faith and purpose.

The program was attended by pastors from various churches, Village Council Chairmen, VCMs, GBs and elders from Yongnyah and neighboring villages, uniting in celebration of this significant spiritual milestone.
