KOHIMA, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The launching of Yopikyu Thongtsar Memorial Trust (YTMT) coaching programme 2024 was held on January 17 at 2K Hotel Officers Hill, Kohima.
Delivering the key note address, Er Lipongse Thongtsar, Additional Director, Industries and Commerce highlighted that YTMT was established in memory of their father, Late Yopikyu Thongtsar, who was the first matriculate among the Sangtam tribe of Kiphire district and later joined politics and served as Minister by getting elected to Nagaland Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms since 1977.
He informed that the first phase starting this year onwards, YTMT will sponsor 37 students viz. 34 General and 3 Technical. He urge the students not only to be simple literate person but be educated in true sense to face any challenges and overcome them with the power of education.
Lonivi, Branch Manager, NPSC Mentors, Kohima highlighted that the NPSC Mentors Coaching Centre is one among the youngest and fastest growing coaching centres in the State and claimed that the center provides good study material prepared by well qualified and experienced faculties.
Er Sato Nyuwi, SDO, PWD Housing and co-founder of Vega Coaching Institute gave brief insight of the Institute named after the brightest star in northern constellation of Lyra which was instituted in the year 2022. He stated that the institute has best and dedicated teaching faculties who have qualified in technical service exams. He also appreciated the initiatives of YTMT and encouraged students to do their best as YTMT is providing them once in a lifetime opportunity.
Short speech on behalf of students was delivered by Khekali H. Awomi. She termed it a privilege to be selected among hundreds and thanked YTMT for the opportunity and generous sponsorship while encouraging her fellow aspirant to achieve goal and to contribute to the community. Selichum Thongtsar, Joint Secretary, Works and Housing Department delivered the vote of thanks.
Earlier, Vilila Thongtsar compered the programme and Chopimong Sangtam, Associate Pastor Sangtam Baptist Lithro Kohima prayed for the students. Dr Atsase Thongtsar, Secretary, Environment Forest and CC Department delivered the welcome note.
