DIMAPUR, JULY 8 (MExN): The Yachem Village Council (YVC) and Noksosang Village Council (NVC) have strongly objected to the demand of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) for the transfer of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Longleng. In a joint press statement, YVC and NVC chairmen M Imti Phom and Hennang Phom reminded that the issue has been amicably settled between the Phom People Council (PPC) and Yachem Village Council (YVC) during a joint meeting on February 6, 2017 in Longleng and the same published in all the local dailies the following day. Despite the clarification issued by the PPC on many occasions, the JCC’s insistence for transfer of the DC, Longleng without any reason is not acceptable under any circumstances, the joint press statement maintained. The two councils have therefore rejected the JCC’s demand and appealed all to respect and uphold the February 6 agreement between the PPC and YVC.
