Zasivi FC Jotsoma today won the coveted champion title of 1st Kohima District Futsal Championship 2022 after defeating Lhouchalie FC Meriema 7-2 in the final match played at L. Viluo FIFA Pro Turf at Meriema.
Zasivi FC Jotsoma walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 along with a trophy and citations while Lhouchalie FC Meriema received a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.
Earlier in the first semi-final match, Lhouchalie FC Meriema defeated Circle FC Meriema 5-1 while Zasivi FC Jotsoma overpowered Sechü Zubza FC 3-1.
Man of the matches in the quarter final matches were Petevizo Kezieo (Lhouchalie FC), Khiuwangbo Kaurinta (Sechü Zubza FC), Kenei Viluo (Circle FC) and Kedolhuvo (Zasivi FC).
In the two semi final matches and the final, man of the match were awarded to Menoneikho Nakhro, Menguzelie Rutsa and Kevisanyü Peseyie respectively.
Earlier, gracing the closing ceremony as the guest of honour, Angami Sports Association (ASA) president Lhoubeizo Mere Kesiyie, urged the players to be committed in their sports discipline.
Kesiyie said that players in the state have the potential to excel and hoped that the players would improve and go on to represent the district, state, and country.
The team of referees officiating the matches were Meyieto Sachü, Mechievilie Yashü, Khrieneisa Üsou, Michael Dul, Takatemsu and Kezevituo Vizo.
The two-day long championship was organized by Kohima District Football Association (KDFA).
Meanwhile, Zasivi FC Joysoma will now represent Kohima district at the upcoming Nagaland Futsal championship.
