Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) and All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) today strongly condemned the alleged involvement of NSCN (IM) Hothrong Brigade in the massive destruction of forests by indulging in illegal logging activities in Kanem Kie/Chakha Range of Zeliangrong area in Senapati District.
The two organisations in a joint statement alleged that heavily armed cadres of NSCN (IM) have been randomly carrying out the illegal logging operations in the area and questioned why the NSCN (IM) was patronizing and protecting the illegal activities being carried out by persons with “vested interest”.
The ZB (AMN) and AZSU (AMN) warned that it will not remain silent spectators to the illegal activities.
