Zunheboto, October 30 (DIPR): As part of the 75 years of the establishment of Zunheboto town, the organising committee of Zunheboto Town Planning Jubilee (ZTPJ) organized a kick off programme at the Local Ground, Zunheboto on October 28. In the first session, Wakathon was held under the theme “Walk the Talk”, wherein Commandant, 5th Assam Rifles, Col. Keishan Debendra graced the occasion as guest of honour. Citizens of Zunheboto, young and old, numbering thousands took part in the Wakathon which was flagged off by the guest of honour.
In the second session, Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, Khrodi Rhetso NPS who graced the occasion as guest of honour expressed his happiness on being part of the jubilee celebration. Exhorting the congregation, he said every individual needs discipline in life, good sanitation, cleanliness in the neighborhood and in the town, efficient government employees, good entrepreneurs, dedicated teachers and sincere farmers to move forward with better prospect and development in our society. Peace and respect for law and order is an indispensable part, he added.
As part of the celebration, an inter-school literary competition was organized. In prepared speech, the participants spoke on the theme "My Vision of Zunheboto By 2030" wherein 1st position was secured by Olympic Hr. Sec. School, 2nd Position by Woodland Hr. Sec. School and 3rd Positions were secured by Step By Step School and Cornerstone Hr. Sec. School.
In the talent show/variety show, Olympic Hr. Sec. School secured 1st Position, while 2nd and 3rd positions were secured by Little Spring School and Kids World Montessori respectively. ADC, Zunheboto and Convenor, Organising Committee, Vekhoyi Chakhesang delivered welcome address.
