The Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI) felicitated the 2-26 Nagaland Board examination toppers from Zunheboto on April 29 at its office, honouring Sudhanshu Kumar and Kiphili Y. Kiba, both students of Olympic Higher Secondary School, for their academic achievements.

Kumar secured the second rank, while Kiba placed tenth in the recently declared High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).

Chairing the event, Inahoto Assumi expressed immense pride over what he described as a rare and significant achievement, stating that the occasion was special not only for the business community but for the people of Zunheboto as a whole.

Congratulating the students for bringing laurels to the district, he said the day was a joyful occasion for all and extended his blessings to those present.

Offering the invocation prayer, Bokali Aye, Women Leader of Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church also encouraged the students to treat this achievement as the beginning of their journey toward greater success rather than the end.  She also shared Bible passages including Daniel 1:17, Proverbs 2:6, and Proverbs 16:3, dedicating them to the students.

In his keynote address, ZCCI President Kikheto Muru said the achievements of the students reflected determination and perseverance, noting that Kumar comes from a family that runs a hotel in the town, while Kiba is from a family whose mother manages a thrift shop, both belonging to the business community under the chamber.

Kikheto Muru said the students’ success was only the beginning and urged them to remain diligent and grounded.

He noted the rarity of securing top ranks among thousands of candidates appearing for the examinations and described it as a moment of pride for the district.

“Lead disciplined and faithful lives, choose a good company, and strive for higher goals in the years ahead,” he further exhorted.

Addressing parents, Kikheto Muru said their responsibility extends beyond providing financial support such as admission and monthly fees, urging them to actively nurture and guide their children for the betterment of society.

Also addressed the gathering, ZCCI Vice President Lhokiye Yeptho noted that while board examination toppers have often emerged from Kohima and Dimapur in previous years, Zunheboto district had the privilege of producing achievers this year, bringing laurels to its people.

He further said the business community does not discriminate and works collectively, while expressing hope that such celebrations would continue in the future with mutual support in both good and difficult times.

The programme also featured short speeches from toppers Kiba, Sahil Kumar (brother of Sudhanshu Kumar), and Yesuho Kiba (father of Kiphili Y Kiba),  Acknowledging the initiatives of the ZCCI highlighting that they are not only focus on the business perspective but over all round development of the people.

The programme also featured short speeches by topper Kiba and her father Yesuho Kiba as well as Sahil Kumar (brother of Sudhanshu Kumar), who acknowledged the initiatives of the ZCCI, stating that it focuses not only on business interests but also on the overall development of the people.
