ZUNHEBOTO, April 25 (MExN): The Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA) conducted a legal awareness programme at Old Town colony prayer fellowship on Sunday, April 23.
The programme was attended by around 100 Sunday school students of Path Finders and Unique Link Groups aged between 13 to 21 years besides PLVs, Panel Lawyer, Retainer Lawyer and ZDLSA officials.
Resource person on the occasion, Easter H. Yepthomi, Panel Lawyer ZDLSA, stressed that ignorance of law is not an excusable defense in legal adjudication and urged the gathering to be aware of their legal rights and duties covered under various statutes.
The resource person also spoke on cyber crimes, POCSO Act, prohibition of smoking under Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), Legal Aid and Services and Civic sense. The programme ended with an interactive session.
