DIMAPUR, JULY 15 (MExN): The Ze Mnui (Yangkhullen) village has issued a condemnation of the recent judgment and order passed on July 12 by the Tenyimi Peoples' Organization (TPO) regarding the land (forest) dispute at Hezing/Kezoltsa/Kozuru/Kazing. The village authority claimed that the verdict is “biased” and undermines their rights as landowners and stakeholders.
In a press release dated, the Ze Mnui (Yangkhullen) Village Authority stated that the TPO's decision ignored their representation and sidelined the apex Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland), a constituent unit of TPO. Despite submitting several claims, position papers, and subsequent representations based on their traditional history of territory and boundaries, the village's interests were overlooked, it claimed.
The village authority described the judgment as highly condemnable, accusing the TPO of having a “sinister design with vested interests.” They further criticized the involvement of the Zeliang Peoples' Organization (NZPO), which they referred to as a non-constituent unit of the TPO, in the decision-making process.
"The TPO will be held solely responsible for any untoward consequences arising from this partial verdict," the press release stated. The Ze Mnui (Yangkhullen) village has declared the judgment "null and void" and emphasized the need to uphold the larger interest and integrity of the Tenyimi Organization.
The press release was signed by Namkolungbe, Chairman of the Ze Mnui (Yangkhullen) Village Authority.
