Newmai News Network Imphal | November 24 Social worker Athuan Abonmai has been elected as the President of Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) for the tenure of 2017-2020. According to a statement from the Zeliangrong body, today’s election cum ‘dimki session’ of the organization was held today at Tarung Community Hall, Imphal which was attended by delegates from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. The session discussed “important issues confronting the Zeliangrong society”. The session was presided by Raitu Chawang, the outgoing President of the organization. According to the statement, Gainithoi Gonmei has been elected as General Secretary of the organization while Albert Gangmei and David Kamei have been elected as Deputy Speaker and Auditor General respectively. The remaining posts are to be co-opted in consulted with the federating state units, the statement added.
