Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima 6th General Session

The Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima (ZBK) today held its 6th general session here at D. Block Panchayat Hall under its motto “Unity towards greater heights.” Angau I. Thou, IAS, secretary tourism and P&AR, Government of Nagaland graced the session as the chief guest.  

Speaking on the occasion, Thou called upon the community to stay united, adding that until unless we are united we can never climb to greater height. Urging the Zeliangrong community to be a good citizen, she said “We should be an asset and not a liability to the society.” The spirit of oneness has to come, she said and urged upon the Zeliangrong community to continue to live as one.  

Urging the students to compete with the competitive world, she encouraged them to work with sincerity and dedication. Stating that it not a sleeping time now, she said that if others are running then we have to fly to join the race of the competitive world. If you want to have a good life, you have to sacrifice and go for competitive exams, she said. Thou also said the tag of laziness should no longer be there in the mind of the students. 

She also urged upon the parents to encourage their children to be attentive in their studies and excel in their respective fields.  

ZBK president Kairinpibou Chawang challenged the Zeliangrong community to stand together and contribute for the upliftment of the society and move forward to a greater and higher prospect.  

He also challenged the learned and intellects to think and act. “We need a think tank leaders for our Zeliangrong unity,” he said. On his re-induction as president of ZBK for tenure, he sought the cooperation and support from the members to carry forward various activities for the welfare of the community.  

Meanwhile, a new office bearer of ZBK for the tenure 2016-18 was also announced during the session.

Installation of new office bearers was done by Haisuing Haikam. The session was chaired by Pagai Ndang while Rajenlung Kamei proposed vote of thanks. 

The new team comprises of President Kairinpibou Chawang; Vice president Abuan Kamei; General Secretary Kenlum Hemang; Joint secretary Pagai Ndang; Information & Publicity Secretary Riimakbo Newmai; Social & Cultural Secretary Thunbui; Treasurer Achana Kamei. Executive members: All the three council president of Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmei including D.S. Namrei and Keheipeu Sephe. Auditor: Chaleu Zeliang, Rakalung Kamei and Mitwatei Haibwang.
