Peren (MExN): The Zeliangrong Union today sent a clear warning to groups and individuals trying to disturb the repairing works of Medziphema to Jalukie and Athibung road, stating that it will seriously deal with the matter.
This warning came in the wake of some so called local contractors trying to grasp their share out of the sanctioned amount.
It may be mentioned that earlier in 2003, the state government had sanctioned the required amount for the road construction but because of the so called local contractors taking up the matter to the court it could not be implemented.
The President of the Zeliangrong Hoho Dennis Elung said, “My people have suffered for so many years, we cannot effort to delay anymore.” He also expressed surprise that, despite of clearance called by the people of Peren district to expedite the repairing of the said road, some contractors don’t hesitate to interfere for their selfish end. He further asked the contractors to decease from disturbing the progress of other communities especially under Peren district.
Dennis called upon the people of Peren to oppose any interference from other local contractors and articulated gratitude to the DAN government for living up to its promise and sanctioning the amount for the repairing work and called upon the government not to pay heed to any groups or individuals. The Zeliangrong Baudi also requested the people of Nagaland to support the move of the government to start the repairing works.
