Dimapur, October 15 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Delhi (ZSUD) celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its formation with a theme: Engaged, Enlightened and Empowered on October 14 at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi
A press release stated that Imkong L. Imchen, Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Armstrong Pame, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong District graced the event as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. The highlights of the celebration included Hwai, Zeliangrong Anthem, Welcome Speech delivered by Shri Mathiuchunbou Rimai, President of ZSUD, Jubilee Choir, presenting Essence of Silver Jubilee:
A Brief Account of ZSUD by Digao Pamei, cultural extravaganza showcasing the rich heritage of the Zeliangrong people which they inherited from the days of Makuilongdi to the present times, paying tributes to pioneer students, felicitating the meritorious & successful students, musical shows, Speech on behalf of Alumni by Lucas L. Kamsuan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India, Exhortation Speech by Aaron Pamei, Director, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, etc.
Another unique feature of the Silver Jubilee celebration was the Best Mentor of ZSUD Award being given to Mathiupuang Gonmei for his outstanding contribution in various ways to ZSUD for the last more than two decades.
