Zeliangrongs mourn demised Naga Club chief

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi and the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union mourn the demise of former Naga Club president Vilavor Liegese Zeliang who passed away October 6 at Dimapur. 

Describing Vilavor as an honest and dedicated leader, the two Zeliangrong frontals in a message of condolence expressed grief that a man of principle and integrity has passed away. “He was one of the prominent Zeliangrong leaders who stood for unity and integrity of our people; his moral support towards the cause if the Zeliangrong homeland demand in the 80s and the effort he (gave) to the younger generation…will always be cherished… stated the message. The two frontals also made mention that late Vilavor hailed from Benreu village and was one of the earliest first graduates from the community. He served as head master of Poilwa Government Middle School in the 1960s. He also contested an election as an independent candidate before he led as president of the Naga Club.  

His demise is a great loss for the Zeliangrong community in particular and the Nagas in general, the message stated. The two organizations on behalf of the community from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, conveyed condolences to the bereaved family, and that his soul rests in peace.
