
Dimapur, June 29 (MExN): MLA, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C & Parliamentary Secretary, Urban Development Department, Zhaleo Rio was today honored by the Medziphema Village Council (MVC) for his successful venture into DAN-III government.
At the event held in the village ground, Rio was all praise for the honor bestowed upon him by the village, informed press secretary of NPF, 5 Ghaspani – II A/C Thejangukho Yalietsu in a media release. In his speech, Rio expressed his vision to usher in positive change for the constituency and the state as a whole, but at the same time, requested land owners to have a heart in allocation of land towards development which would go a long way to solve unemployment problems and also uplift the area and its people. While calling the people to unite for a better tomorrow, he also stated that “overnight change” in developmental sphere is rarely possible, but patient co-operation and co-ordination is the key to achieve desired results in due time. He further exhorted the gathering to be active agents of unity in spite of the constituency size or the “galho” of tribal groups who inhabit the constituency.
The note further said that MVC Chairman, Khonyü Kuotsu lauded the tireless efforts of Zhaleo towards developing Medziphema into a satellite model township, while also apprising him of the need to set up a medical sub-centre in the village which has over 300 houses.
Earlier, the program began with invocation of blessings by Megovotuo Kuotsu, Pastor, BCMV, while Dosau Kuotsu, Former Chairman, MTC, delivered the welcome address. Besides, number of speeches was delivered by elders and leaders. The program was followed by a mass felicitation feast where all distinguished guests and villagers partook with fervor, it added.
