Medziphema, February 15 (MExN): NDPP candidate for 5 Ghaspani-II A/C, Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Retd.) officially kicked off his election campaign from Molvom Village on February 15.
He was accompanied by party leaders and star campaigners where different speakers considered him as the undisputed choice to lead the constituency at such a time when unity, development, empowerment and broad-minded vision are compulsory for the future generation, a press release stated.
Challenging the villagers to remain steadfast in order to bring about stability and development, Miathou Krose, Vice president, NDPP (Central), in his short message, called on people to "Come, join the winning team".
Speaking at the simple launching ceremony, Zhaleo was all praise for party leaders and workers alike who had faithfully believed in him as "your leader" and pledged to strive for holistic development of the constituency as well as the state.
Citing reasons that he is a leader for all different people groups or tribes, he stated that there are 42 villages in the constituency where all the different Naga tribes reside apart from other minority groups. "It is high time we change our mindsets to show the potentials we have, the scope for development, our resources and skills, etc. to other constituencies," he challenged while hinting that Medziphema sub-division has all the requisites for advanced development into satellite township anytime.
Zhaleo went on to add that his new party is committed to usher in all-round developmental changes, particularly for rural people, minorities, students, youths and farmers alike. He further added that the Naga political issue is the top agenda in the party's manifesto.
