Alpha United will organise the 1st Futsal Tournament 2018 from November 1 to 3 at Kohima Village Ground, Ziekezou. It will be a knock-out tournament.
Announcing this in a press conference here this evening, organizing committee secretary Khrietuo Pienyii said the champion team will win a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and runners-up Rs. 20,000.
There will also be two individual awards- Most skilful player and Best goalkeeper. While stating that the tournament will be an annual running trophy, Alpha United is expecting participation from 20 to 30 teams from across the state.
“Through this tournament, we anticipate our young talented players to embrace Futsal as a profession and prosper as professionals as the game is rapidly gaining popularity,” Pienyii said.
Registration forms can be collected at Plaza Bakery, Razhü point and Global Sports, opposite Oking Hospital, Kohima.
