Mokokchung, January 10 (MExN): Zillion United FC beat Lenjeter FC by five goals to nil to lift the first ever Longmisa Citizens Football trophy at Longmisa village on January 9.
Speaking on the occasion, Er J Wati Pongen, Joint Director (Rtd) Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, harped on the importance of good infrastructure for the overall development of an athlete. He said good infrastructure should compliment along with the talent, health and hard work of an athlete to reach his optimum level, stated a press release received here.
Stressing on the lack of various essential infrastructures and developments in the village, the retired bureaucrat asked the gathering to retrospect and make amends for their past shortcomings while envisioning and setting a positive goal for a progressive future of the village.
“If we are united, together we can accomplish anything. Let us set a goal for the wholistic development of the village through unity. Let us strive and toil for a brighter future so that the common harvest and blessings of our hardwork will be bountiful and bear positive results,” Er Wati stated.
The 1st Longmisa Citizens Football tournament which was organized by Wholistic Development Board, Longmisa was a four-daylong affair which saw eight teams from Longmisa village vying for the coveted trophy.
